Stan Twitter (or Stan X) is a genre of Twitter/X and is somewhat related to Floptok. (Similar videos and content). The term “Stan” means people that are extremely beyond reasonable levels are dedicated to their favorite artist, or singer. Many Floptok compilations also have Stan Twitter videos in them. Stan icons are all female, with the exception of male K-pop groups.
Floptok is not to be associated with Stan Twitter, as Floptropicans do not tolerate hate speech.
Etymology[]
The word "Stan" is referred to as "a Stalker-Fan", hence its name. It was first used in 2000 with the release of the song "Stan" by Eminem. The word has been used as a noun, but is also used as a verb more recently. It was added to the Oxford Dictionary in 2017.
Culture[]
Similarity with Floptok[]
Stan Twitter and Floptok both have funny, "copy-and-paste" style videos and funny captions that go along with said video. The difference is that Stan Twitter focuses more on Stan Culture, and Floptok is more general. Do note that Floptok and Stan Twitter are never to be mixed together, as Stan Twitter tolerates hate speech while Floptok does not.

Similarity with Daboyz[]
Unfortunately, Stan Twitter also has similarity with Daboyz; they are both hateful. Most, if not all, of Stan Twitter, are racist, transphobic, ableist, and simply everything else that is hateful aside from homophobia. Stan Twitter is also the reason why some celebrities like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande no longer personally post on Twitter. Stan Twitter also use clips from the September 11 attacks in their memes.
