Floptok Wiki

Merflops are an occult human subspecies native to Floptropica. Most merflops live in Merflopia and Poosay Bottom, but they are also found all over Floptropica. During autumn and before winter, some will migrate to the warmer areas of Floptropica, especially at the coastal areas near the Nymphussium as there is a lot of merflop energy residing there, pivotal for merchild growth and merflop restoration.

One example of a Merflop in Floptropica is CupcakKe.

History[]

Origin[]

Before the first Badussy War, the ruler of Floptropica, Empress Cupcakkina have received war threats and threatening messages from DaBoyz. This wouldn't have bothered her much if this was the only problem in the country, but Floptropica was also experiencing a newgen epidemic, where annoying newgens and "flop" spies that have arrived overseas would constantly harass Floptropicans on a daily basis.

To kill two birds with one stone, Cupcakkina consulted the Wizard Flop Society Group, hoping to find a way to turn Flop soldiers into species that can attack underwater. Alas, the merflop kelp was made. This was created because a wizard flop accidentally fused 30% seahorse, 5% fish, and 65% human genome into a box of kelps whilst trying to study it.

Cupcakkina was the first to try it. After its success, Cupcakkina distributed the kelp to her soldiers. Of course, she also planted the kelp in order to keep the merflops going.

The Merflop March[]

After the Badussy War, Although Empress Cupcakkina is thankful for her merflop ability, she is also quite annoyed by its many restriction, such as needing to swim in saltwater every 48 hours and not being able to control when she transforms. So, through lots of trial and error with the Wizard Flop Society Group of Floptropica, she finally improved the quality of life for merflops in Floptropica.

To kill two birds with one stone again, Empress Cupcakkina, along with all the other merflops and some non-merflops, had a parade around the country, showing off their abilities and entertaining the people of Floptropica. This was to celebrate the Wizard Flop Society Group's amazing work and to cheer up the people of Floptropica after the war.

Behavior[]

Merflops are just like humans, only that they have a fish tail.

Transformation (Flop to Merflop and Back)[]

Merflops will transform into their mermaid form when exposed to saltwater. Once exposed, scales will expose themselves out of the sweat glands, and the legs will merge, turning the lower half of the body into a mermaid tail.

Merflops can turn back into their human form by simply getting out of saltwater, which results to their scales hiding back into their skin and their tail slowly fading into legs.

Contrary to TV shows and media, Merflops can decide when and where to transform, which means a merflop can swim in saltwater with their legs, or with their tail.

Abilities[]

Merflops have amazing voices with amazing abilities, which can aid them in battle or in regular life. Here are some examples:

  • Aggravating Aria: Annoys the victim.
  • Bewitching Berceuse: Forces the victim to tell the truth.
  • Charming Chorus: Makes the victim attracted to the merflop.

Merflops have 24 singing-related powers in total. Aside from that, they also have non-singing powers. Such as:

  • A Mermaid's Kiss: Allows the receiver to breathe underwater for a period of time.
  • An Offender's Scare: Calls upon a big aquatic animal, such as a whale or a shark, to attack offenders of Floptropica.
  • A Monsoon's Farewell: Clears the sky from any precipitation when waving to the sky.

Diet[]

Merflops are omnivores, just like regular Flops and humans. However, they do not eat fish in their mermaid form. A merflop's diet consists more of kelp and seaweed.

Language[]

Merflops are known for their vocals, however, they also have their own language that they use to communicate with other Merflops which is called 'Oani'. Oani translates 'language', the full name of their language is referred to as, Merflop Oani (Merflop Language).

Types[]

Merflop Types by Specie[]

Regular Merfolks[]

 in her Merflop form.

CupcakKe in her Merflop form.

Mermaids, Mermen and Merfolks are the most common, with a population of around 2 million. Unlike the Sirens, they have very big social groups, and a very complex social structure. Their fins at the end of their tail resemble a dolphin tail. They reason both groups of Merflop can't have fish like tails is because the limits of the mammalian spine.

Sirens[]

Sirens are an invasive species that often have less complex social structures due to low-population, and solitary social structures. Little is known about them because of such a low population, considering they can only be converted from a regular merflop through complicated means. Merflops can turn into sirens when they participate in newgen or daboyz activities.

Sirens are known to lure flops into dangerous situations by singing anti-flop songs, such as the "Skibidi Toilet" song and other distasteful songs. When they successfully lure flops into the sea, they will suck out all the flop energy out of their victims, which is needed in order for their ultimate goal of taking over Floptropica. Fortunately, they are being hunted down and being rehabilitated to turn back into normal Merflops.

Merflop Types by Activeness[]

Active Merflops[]

These merflops have transformed at least once in 180 days and are still actively changing in-between their forms, and can use their powers easily. Most active merflops are in Merflopia, but they can also be found all over Floptropica's tropical areas. They are usually drinking more water than usual.

Inactive Merflops[]

These merflops have transformed at least once in 180 days, but are not actively changing in-between their forms. With maintenance, they can still use their powers easily. Most inactive merflops reside in more urban areas of Floptropica, where saltwater isn't easily accessible.

Dormant Merflops[]

These merflops have not transformed in 180 days. They usually have difficulty using their powers without a little practice first. Most inactive merflops live outside of Floptropica, where the merflop energy is too low to help dormant merflops change their form.

Extinct[1] Merflops[]

Whether by choice or genetically, these merflops have not transformed in 360 days, or at all. It may be because the merflop gene in the carrier is completely overtaken by a stronger gene, or the merflop themself chooses to not transform. Merflops who choose to be extinct will lose their merflop abilities completely in 2 years of inactivity.
