"now here's for the Floptropica community 👋" - Deborah Ali-Williams - 2024

Floptok is a TikTok genre that plays on the term “flop era”, which uses Stan Twitter videos, memes, and “icons” such as Jiafei, CupcakKe and Deborah Ali-Williams, to create a country called Floptropica where the characters and memes exist. Floptok originated from a migration of Stan Twitter users to TikTok, and combining their memes to those of Deeptok. Floptropica is the successor to Badussy War which was one of the first worlds for flops to live in. Floptok is similar to “Stan Twitter,”which uses the same memes and low quality moldy videos for aesthetic purposes.

Floptok is one of the most significant and important things that has happened in TikTok history. Floptok is one of the most things with a lot of history behind it such as the Badussy War and The First Floptropican(s).

Since late 2021, Floptok has spread around thousands of classic memes and things every Flop can laugh at and enjoy. "Floptok is the best type of tiktok" - Late General Flopnussy

History

Origin

Floptok originated from a mix of Deeptok and Stan Twitter during late 2019, the first Floptok icon being Teala Dunn, according to one person. Floptok’s aesthetic was a natural progression from Stan Twitter memes usually making overly sexual videos for shock humor and entertainment. the oldest known video to use “#floptok” was uploaded by a Floptoker named “@floppedflop” who posted a low quality video of Lovely Peaches laughing, the caption said “me after posting i hate nicki to use as a custom vibrator.”

CupcakKe Remixes

CupcakKe Remixes is a trend dating back to 2016 where users on Youtube take popular pre-existing songs and replace their vocals with CupcakKe’s rap verses mostly from Vagina and Deepthroat. In 2020, Ranvision, previously known as DJ Pyromania, brought the Youtube trend to Tiktok and added his own spin to it, giving birth to one of the pillars of Floptok. One of the first remixes he made was the Toxic Remix. These amazing remixes were soon followed up by Jiafei Remixes, such as a remix of the 2018 song Faded by Alan Walker, often referred to as Sold (My Products) in the remix version.

Jiafei Bots and Products

In 2021, Chinese engagement-farming accounts that tried to sell products through advertisements appeared all over TIktok. These videos were normally targeted towards middle-aged Chinese women, therefore using songs that were popular in that demographic, including Yehuaxiang.

In the same time period, Chinese scam bot accounts were also in the comment sections, commenting sexual things such as "click my bio to see my Chinese p****". Some of them stole Daidai's face as their profile picture, along with generic Chinese names, one of them being "Jiafei".

With these two things happening at the same time, Tiktok users began to take inspiration and make videos of these two things fused, posing as a Chinese sex scam bot trying to sell products only to kidnap you. Unfortunately, these videos were considered "racist" because most people did not know the origin of the Chinese scam bots, assuming that "Jiafei" was a random stereotypical Chinese name.

The iconic Jiafei image was said to be the faces of K-Flop stars Wang Feifei and Meng Jia photoshopped together. Until in 2023, the real Jiafei, Daidai, stepped forward. Check Jiafei to learn more.

Jiafei became a symbol of Floptok discourse and prompted multiple parody accounts that exploited sound effects and concepts like kidnapping through IP addresses. A famous sound effect used for the advertising was a “Jiafei Scream.” In one of the videos showcasing a mask that would protect yourself from getting hurt by the flames of a stove, a woman made a very loud scream as the flames arose and she almost got hurt.

Twitter Links

In mid 2021 to mid 2022 a bunch of fellow floptropicans would post videos telling people to click these "twitter links" usually with captions saying stuff like "guys don't click this link, I'm forever traumatized" etc etc, and if you were to click on the link, it would send you to a video in Twitter (now X) which usually showed either gore or just very disgusting fetishy videos, one very popular video was The Haunted House, which was a very disgusting video, but a very popular link that traumatized a lot of floptropicans, then later on people would repurpose the Haunted House as a copypasta like "Girl YES!! you're invited to the Haunted House tonight 😍 , don't be late and don't forget to bring your family 🥰." and yes most of them were Girl Yes comments, also popularized by fellow floptropican Jayedith, then they became popular again somewhere in mid 2023 but just the Haunted House, not the twitter link (supposedly they're making new episodes but they might be rumors).

March 7th

March 7th was a scary event that had Flops scared. During early 2022, it was announced by TikTok that on March 7th they would be updating the guidelines so they would be more strict. The guidelines that were added were; “Strengthening our dangerous acts and challenges policy,” “broadening our approach to eating disorders,” “adding clarity on the types of hateful ideologies prohibited on our platform,” and “expanding our policy to protect the security, integrity, availability, and reliability of our platform.” Unfortunately, Floptok has always been known for its sexual humor, and this had many flops worried. A Floptoker created a video saying that Floptok would be deleted because of these guidelines. The news quickly spread all across Floptok with many Floptokers saying their goodbyes and thanking each other for making their lives better. But thankfully, all the Floptokers survived, and the Black Statue of Cvmberty was made to celebrate the community's success.

Floptropica

Floptropica was founded in early 2023 when @yduyucare (whose account is now banned) uploaded a video urging the Flops and Potaxies to raise money to buy and island located within the Patagonia region of Chile so that the Floptok community can become one of an official nation. Every Flop would have to donate $1 (or any dollar in their currency, since there are thousands of Flops around the world) in order to help the cause and have Floptok be considered the first TikTok community to have an official country. Although we’ve all worked hard, Floptropica still hasn't reached it's goal— so if you want to help, go here, or search “Floptropica” on GoFundMe search and find the currency that fits you. And if you can't actually send money, don't worry! To do so, find a bunch of Floptok videos (suggested 5–10) on TikTok and share them to 1-10 friends or other Flops you personally know, and tell them to send it to their other friends so that they can spread a bunch of views, causing the creators to get money to sell to get Floptropica.

Restaurants Era

During 2023, a Floptok account under the name of Flopdonalds would appear. It was an account based on McDonalds and has special Floptok themed food and drinks, this started a trend of Floptok accounts spoofing more restaurants and other stores(mostly restaurants), such as Flopbucks, Burger Queen, etc.

Purple Heart Memes

In late 2024, a copypasta of Donatella Versace💜 suddenly went viral, capturing the laughter of both Flops and Otherlandians alike. The copypasta later turned into a meme, and soon, several variations of it would go viral.

Global Impact

Although Floptok may just seem like an average TikTok community, it isn't. Making every effort to make people laugh, having grand places like an entire website, Wiki, etc., and even reaching to points like donating to earn a new country— clearly, every Flop has been working hard. “I joined Floptok because I was having an identity crisis for a month, and wasn’t sure who I am, or what I like and what’s my humor. But when I found Floptok in early 2023, I knew that everyone there were so unique and amazing. They had the same humor, liked similar people, and everyone had a lot in common with me. Joining the community really helped me because I’ve had abandonment and friendship problems, but to know just a couple of other peers my age on the internet which could literally be anywhere in the world have more in common with me than my class- it let me know just how precious of a community Floptok was,” says one Flop. (/srs) Since the creation of Floptok, not only are many Floptokers in America, but there have even been some in Europe and Asia; such as Sweden Germany, Malaysia, Russia, Mexico, France, etc. We have clearly made the community of Floptok the one that ate the most— and DaBoyztok (??? whatchamacallit) can go die in a ditch.
